Returning to Kenya!

An Update from the Larson Family

September 2014

Dear Family & Friends,

There is change in the air!  With all five beautiful children back in public school this year, it has been an adjustment for everyone! But what a wonderful summer! An RV Vacation in Ohio to the Creation Museum, Lake Erie, and Cedar Point; a week on the beach in Bethany, DE; and for Juliana and her lucky daddy a week in a canoe in Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario with Grandpa, uncles and all the North American family teenagers. Wow. The tight schedule of the school bus, homework and after school activities has everyone dancing to a new beat.  Alysia has taken it all in stride, providing support, encouragement, and homework help to everyone.

As many of you know. Our family has had the blessing of traveling each year to serve and teach at either the Baptist Medical Center in Ghana or Kapsowar Hospital in Kenya.  On November 14 we will be returning to Kapsowar!  We are VERY excited to be returning to this wonderful place where we lived and served for two years and hope to be a support and encouragement to the long-term missionaries, staff, and friends in the surrounding community.  This short-term mission opportunity for our family is combined with the chance to teach medical students and residents from Pittsburgh the important lessons of Global Health in partnership with the Institute for International Medicine.  This year three medical residents from Pittsburgh will join us in Kapsowar. Two have traveled with our family on previous trips.  As we have shared previously, the opportunity to live intentional Christian lives of service in front of these students is one of the core motivations for our participation.  If you would like to see videos from our previous trips they can be found at https://vimeo.com/89784566 and we will be maintaining our travel blog at http://larsonstepsoffaith.blogspot.com/.

We are deeply honored and grateful for your faithful support and encouragement of our annual short-term service through international medical education.  Would you consider joining our trip again this year by partnering with us in prayer and/or a financial gift?  Our home church is again receiving donations on our behalf and checks may be mailed to:  Hampton Bible Chapel PO Box 1405
Gibsonia, PA 15044.  Please include a note designating your gift for the support of the Larson’s short-term mission.

Gratefully,

Paul & Alysia
